Spatial distortions with maps

Finesse provides a suite of tools for handling two-dimensional defects to simulate effects such as optical path difference variations and apertures. These 2D objects are called maps. This section provides an overview of their usage and the different types of maps available in Finesse.

Note

The map functionality is only accessible via the Python API and no KatScript interface currently exists.
